Where is the DCL Series Input & Cutout Reactor installed in a drive system?

The DCL Series is a DC-side reactor installed in the DC link of inverters, converters, and variable frequency drives — between the rectifier bridge and the DC bus capacitors. It is not a line-side (AC input) or motor-side (AC output) reactor.

The primary function is to mitigate capacitor-induced harmonic distortion in the input current, reduce DC bus AC ripple, and protect the rectifier bridge and DC capacitors from surge currents that can cause overheating and premature failure. It also improves the input power factor and restricts transient voltage changes.

The DCL Series covers rated voltages from 400V to 1200V at 50Hz, with rated currents from 3A to 1500A (measured at 40℃ ambient). The specification table includes 23 standard models matched to motor adapters from 0.75kW to 450kW.

IP00 means the reactor has no protection against solid objects or water and must be installed inside a protective enclosure such as a control cabinet or switchgear panel. This is standard for panel-mounted inductive components designed for indoor industrial use.
